About

Ecogee are an Energy and Construction specialist firm providing green energy solutions across the North West. Ecogee was established in 2012 in response to the launch of the Government’s energy efficiency programme, Energy Company Obligation (ECO) which aims to tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions.

The ECO4 scheme will be focused on one obligation, the Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO). This will allow energy efficient measure to be fitted into qualifying households with the expectations that they will help to reduce fuel poverty and reduce the carbon footprint.

Ecogee are currently in talks with two of the main utility providers in the UK, OVO Energy and Scottish Power to work with them to help deliver ECO4 to qualifying households in the North West.

Founded by two local entrepreneurs, Brendan Helm and Lee Kissock, Ecogee prides itself on being a family business, that goes out of its way to support workers within Merseyside.

Brendan Helm, previously a regional Manager for the nationwide main building contractor “MITIE” and his business partner Lee Kissock, a stairlift engineer with “STANNAH stairlifts” identified the long-term opportunity that ECO presented to them, in Liverpool and the North West.

Ecogee currently employs over 55 members of staff at its Aintree Headquarters, all living locally in Merseyside. In addition, Ecogee works with, and supports, over 50 local subcontractors and small businesses.

Both Brendan and Lee are very keen to promote both local work and employment. Currently all of Ecogees work has been carried out in and around the North West of England. Ecogee currently has four main pillars to its business.

The four pillars

  1. Energy saving Government Grants. These grants allow Ecogee to fit a variety of energy saving measures into domestic households. These measures will range from a new A rated gas boiler, first time central heating systems, cavity wall insulation, underfloor and loft insulation as well as external wall insulation, the majority of which is fully funded.
  2. New Build properties. Over the past 5 years, Ecogee have completed a number of housing projects for both the private and social housing sectors ranging from a 1-bedroom apartment to a 5-bedroom detached house.
  3. Social housing project. Ecogee has been working with some of the largest social housing providers in the Liverpool such as ForViva, One Vision Housing and Prima Housing delivering a variety of schemes such as: voids, replacement of kitchen and bathrooms, external rendering at both low rise and high-rise apartment blocks and a 24-hour full repair and maintenance programme.
  4. External wall insulation, rendering and brick-slip. Ecogee has delivered several high-profile schemes over the past few years with the flagship scheme being the development of the “Baltic View”, 130 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments in Liverpool’s creative district, The Baltic Triangle. Ecogee was responsible for all the external wall insulation carried out on this iconic building.

From its small routes in 2012, it has developed into one of the top providers of energy saving grants in the North West, a partner of choice for a number of social housing providers and sought after by developers to assist with their new build projects. Ecogee is a family business with strong values that you can rely upon.
