Ecogee was established in 2012 in response to the launch of the Government energy efficiency programme, Energy Company Obligation (ECO). Ecogee is a family business and the Company was founded by two local entrepreneurs, Brendan Helm and Lee Kissock.
Brendan Helm, previously a regional Manager for the nationwide main building contractor “MITIE” and his business partner Lee Kissock a stairlift engineer with “STANNAH stairlifts” identified the long-term opportunity that ECO presented to them, Liverpool and the North West.
Ecogee currently employs over 55 members of staff at its Aintree Headquarters, living locally in Merseyside. In addition, Ecogee works with and supports over 50 local subcontractors and small businesses.
Both Brendan and Lee are very keen to promote both local work and local employment. Currently all Ecogee work has been carried out in and around the North West of England. Ecogee currently has four main pillars to its business.
The four pillars
- Energy saving Government Grants. These grants allow Ecogee to fit a variety of Energy saving measures into domestic households. These measure’s will range from a new A rated Gas boiler, First Time Central Heating systems, cavity wall insulation, underfloor insulation, loft insulation and external wall insulation, the majority fully funded.
- New Build properties. Ecogee over the past 5 years have completed a number of housing projects for both the private and social housing sectors ranging from a 1-bedroom apartment to a 5-bedroom detached house.
- Social housing project. Ecogee has been working with some of the largest social housing provides in the Liverpool, ForViva, One Vision Housing and Prima Housing delivering a variety of schemes such as: Voids, replacement of kitchen and bathrooms, external rendering at both low rise and high-rise apartment blocks and a 24-hour full repair and maintenance programme.
- The fourth pillar of Ecogee growing business is external wall insulation, rendering and brick-slip. Ecogee has delivered several high-profile schemes over the past few years with the flagship scheme being the development of the “Baltic View” 130 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in Liverpool most exciting district. Ecogee was responsible for all the external wall insulation carried out on this iconic building.
