Created to combat the skills gap in the green construction sector, The Learning Foundry invited Ecogee support them in shaping the curriculum for the Green Skills Bootcamps, which will be running in the brand-new Skills Centre based in Kirkdale.
Our Operations Director, Maria O’Connor spoke at the launch about emphasising the urgent need for skilled workers in retrofit energy solutions.
With the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) forecasting a need for additional construction workers by 2028, the introduction of this centre couldn’t have come at a better time.
“We designed the content to meet real-world requirements faced by retrofit advisors and domestic energy assessors and we also assisted in the centre’s layout to make sure it mirrored work environment in the sector.”
“At Ecogee, we understand that improving energy performance in homes is crucial, especially since Liverpool City Region homes are responsible for 30% of the areas total carbon emissions.”
“Ecogee have been playing a part in this journey in the works that we carry out in domestic homes. We have provided local employment opportunities in green roles throughout our history.”
“Working with The Learning Foundry means Ecogee can provide our expertise to help deliver green skills bootcamps. It brings together our sustainability goals for the future and helps people establish new skills in green roles.”
“The Skills Centre will not only ensure learners are given opportunities to learn green skills, but it will also create job opportunities and work placements accessible to all”
