Last week, we took part in a special event at Fazakerley Primary School which left more than sixty local school children feeling positive, inspired and confident about their future!
The ‘Career Carousel’ event was organised by Cobalt Housing and Positive Footprints to give children an insight into the world of work and raise their hopes and dreams for the future.
At the event, pupils had the opportunity to explore different career paths by speaking to professionals from organisations like Ecogee, who work closely with Cobalt.
At Ecogee, we care about providing opportunities for people in local communities. Meeting the school children, talking about our services and the jobs available in the sector, is a great way for us to give back and inspire the pupils.
Maria O’Connor, Operations Director at Ecogee, said: “We’re passionate about creating a brighter future for all and working with Cobalt and Positive Footprints is a great way to support children in local neighbourhoods. It’s really important to us to showcase how our energy and construction experts contribute to thriving communities, and events like these are a great way to do it.”
Jo Norwood, Customer Relationship Manager at Positive Footprints, said: “We’ve had a great day opening up the world of work at Fazakerley Primary School. There’s nothing quite like bringing children together to pose their questions to industry professionals!
“The investment Cobalt are making to support children and young people in their communities shows how much they care. This event is part of our continued partnership and our shared belief in investing in children’s future, and we look forward to future activity together.”
Claire Griffiths, CEO of Cobalt Housing said, “We have worked with Positive Footprints for over five years and we have come to realise the valuable role that Housing providers like us play in developing partnerships with schools. The Raising Aspirations event supports two of our core objectives in our Corporate Plan, encouraging the development of Positive People and supporting the growth of young people in our communities.”
“We are proud of what the children of Fazakerley Primary School have achieved, but also in how their self-confidence and ambition has grown throughout the aspirations programme,” said Claire.
We’re so proud to take part in community events like this one – especially with we get great feedback like this comment from Harper: “I’ve loved today learning about lots of different types of jobs. I’ve learned a lot and I want to do a job that lets me help people.”
