Residents at Park Homes in Widnes, Halton are delighted with the recent insulation work undertaken by Ecogee as part of the Home Upgrade Grant.

The grant is part of a government scheme that aims to make homes warmer and cheaper to run by delivering energy efficient upgrades and low carbon heating to eligible households.

So far, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has secured £10 million in funding as part of the scheme which has allowed for retrofit measures to be made in homes where energy improvements are most needed.

This will ultimately allow for a reduction in energy bills and carbon emission outputs – and provide residents with warmer homes!

As part of Ecogee’s work, three Park Home residents received External Wall Insulation – with one of these residents receiving additional Under Floor insulation and another having Loft Insulation work carried out.

One resident we spoke to, Angie received External Wall insulation and Under Floor Insulation, and says she couldn’t be happier with the work that was undertaken:

“I have noticed a big difference since Ecogee completed the work – as it’s quite an old Park Home the cold used to get in and there would be a draft, but this has disappeared since the insulation.”

Angie expressed concern that gas bills were through the roof last winter – but noted how they should be much lower now following the completion of the work – allowing her to save money on her bills.

After applying for the grant, the work took just over a month to be completed

“The team who came out were brilliant and I couldn’t wish for any better – they never wasted any time and just got straight on with the job – the work is really good and I am very happy overall!”
