Oxford house is owned and operated by One Vision Housing. One Vision Housing is a social housing provider providing 13,000 homes across Merseyside, Cheshire, and Lancashire that was formed in October 2006 following a successful stock transfer from Sefton Council.
Ecogee are working in partnership with One Vision Housing/Sovini Construction to deliver refurbishment works to Oxford House. Oxford House consist of 90 flats over fifteen floors with communal space on the ground floor. Ecogee is contracted to deliver external wall insulation to the whole of the building and to replace all the windows.
The system being delivered is an Alsecco external wall insulation which consists of Rockwool insulation, silicon render finish and Clay Brick-Slips over a 4000 sq m area, with a contract value of £450,000.
The past 12 months has been challenging for all, the construction industry is no exception. Ecogee where originally scheduled to have started oxford House in April 2020 and have the scheme completed in November however due to the pandemic the scheme had to be suspended with remobilisation in-line with Governments Covid Secure, socially distant working practices commencing on the 18th of June 2020. The scheme is on budget and will be delivered on its newly adjusted timeline towards the end of May 2021.
The scheme has been overseen by Brendan Helm the Managing Director of Ecogee and by the full-time project manager. The project is being delivered by Ecogee directly employed labor resources and supported by a fulltime SMSTS certified manager.
Communication at all levels was required to not only keep the residents fully informed around the schedule of works, the impact of the pandemic but as the scheme is being part funded through the “RetroFIT for the FUTURE project, the European Structural and Investment Funds requirements.
